Doesn't work on OS-X 10.6.8

Postby bobr » Fri Jun 01, 2012 12:12 pm

I have installed QT and unzipped Q7Basic. When I try to run the application I get a permanent fault suggesting that it doesn't work with this version of OS-X.
The beginning of the fault log is thus:

Anonymous UUID: BAEBBF25-6F50-49CA-B998-2EA0B0D3B03B

Exception Type: EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP)
Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000
Crashed Thread: 0

Dyld Error Message:
Symbol not found: _kCFWebServicesProviderDefaultDisplayNameKey
Referenced from: /Users/bobravenshear/Downloads/Q7Basic.app/Contents/MacOS/../Frameworks/QtWebKit.framework/Versions/4/QtWebKit
Expected in: /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework/Versions/A/CoreFoundation

Any suggestions?

I known by Bernd.
Have the same problems here, you have to update to Lion (10.7.x)
Have decided that i'll wait for Mountain Lion.
Kind regards,

OS X 10.6 might be supported by newer Qt version. I will give it a try within the next weeks and make a new q7basic for Mac with Qt 4.8.1

The only reason I was trying to switch to Q7BASIC is that I've a problem with KBasic, but the forum has been closed to new discussions. So, what do I do. I can't change to Q7BASIC because it doesn't work with Snow Leopard and I can't get help with KBasic? Changing to Lion isn't an option as I have a lot of Universal software which won't work under Lion.

However, I'll post my problem here, just in case someone has an idea. It's with TreeView:
I always get a black background if I try to change the background colour of a cell using TreeView.SetBackground(ID, Column, "&HFFFF77").

Bernd added a new "Legacy: KBasic related" in this forum, to make it possible to ask KBasic related questions. :)

Does using the predefined colors work?
“White”, “Black”, “Red”, “DarkRed”, “Green”, “DarkGreen”, “Blue”, “DarkBlue”, “Cyan”, “DarkCyan”, “Magenta”, “DarkMagenta”, “Yellow”, “DarkYellow”, “Gray”, “DarkGray”, “LightGray”.

No, I tried that too, but it always produces black. SetFontColor() doesn't appear to produce anything but black either!

Please be patient, soon there will be a working version for OS X 10.6 of q7basic. It is not my fault, because when I tried (several hours) the latest Qt, it was broken for 10.6
